Term 3 COVID-safe schools plan released

The Department for Education, Children and Young People’s COVID-safe schools operational plan for Term 3 is now available.

Tasmanian Government schools can now support a wider range of school activities compared to the start of the school year given lower community cases.

In Term 3, intrastate school camps and overnight excursions can go ahead, with schools well equipped with clear procedures in place to help manage any COVID-19 risks.

The Department for Education, Children and Young People has worked closely with Public Health in the lead up to the end of the emergency declaration to ensure schools continue to be safe places for learners.

Important COVID-safe measures such as increased ventilation, hygiene practices and cleaning will continue into next term.

It also continues to be fundamental to our response to COVID-19 that if students or staff are unwell, they remain at home and undertake a COVID-19 test.

The Department continues working closely with government school communities and the non-government sector to support them with managing COVID-19 in their communities.
