In Australia, early childhood education and care educators work within regulated services. These include long day care centres, early learning centres, family day care, or pre-schools. This qualification will provide you with the skills and knowledge to:

  • Support children’s wellbeing and development
  • Plan activities for children's developmental stage
  • Work within an approved learning framework
  • Use discretion and judgment while working within defined policies and procedures.
This qualification may lead to further study, or work within the early education and care sector.
To achieve this qualification, you must complete a total of at least 160 hours of work placement in a regulated children’s education and care service in Australia.
