Lauderdale Primary School’s new facilities are officially open after its $6.5 million redevelopment. The works will give students better learning spaces in one of Tasmania’s fastest growing school communities.

The additional learning spaces include:

  • Four new general learning areas, with operable walls, shared wet activity areas, and alcoves for quiet activities
  • Three redeveloped learning spaces, allowing for contemporary teaching practices.

Improved outdoor facilities feature:

  • A new playground
  • Paved areas with seating
  • Better connections between classrooms and outdoor spaces, enabling teachers to work more closely together, and students to learn both inside and outside.
  • Accessible pathways linking the new learning spaces to the school’s main entry.

The new playground will be used by Pre-Kinder programs and Launching into Learning. The community can also enjoy the outdoor spaces after school hours.

Lauderdale Primary School will also see its outdoor sports courts resurfaced in 2026-2027, through funding from the Playground and Sports Courts Program.
