When staff feel valued and supported, students are more likely to learn, grow and succeed every day.
Violence in schools is a complex issue and there is no single solution.
Our priority is to prevent violence wherever possible. When it does occur, we will respond clearly and consistently and support all staff who are affected. This requires a coordinated approach across the whole system.
This action plan explains how we will do this. It is based on extensive consultation with school staff and other stakeholders, and sets out immediate actions.
It outlines how we will build stronger systems over time, working closely with school communities.
Most importantly, these actions move us away from reacting after incidents happen and towards preventing them in the first place.
