A new scholarship program is now available for eligible Bachelor of Education and Master of Teaching students studying full-time at the University of Tasmania from 2024.
In partnership with the University of Tasmania the government has committed to ensuring Tasmania has the quality teachers it needs with the scholarship valued at up to $31,000 per student.
The Teach Tasmania Scholarship will make it easier for students in challenging circumstances to enter the Bachelor of Education, while also supporting high-achieving graduates into the Master of Teaching.
The scholarship will support relocation and accommodation costs as well as the cost-of-living pressures affecting students.
Fifty Teach Tasmania Scholarships will be made available, initially to eligible students who enrolled in the Bachelor of Education or Master of Teaching in 2023 or who have applied to these courses for 2024.
Recipients need to be Tasmanian residents, undertake their placements in Tasmanian government schools and study full-time throughout their degrees.
