Update – as at 8 March 2023
The planned Stop Work Action by the Australian Education Union on Friday afternoon (10 March) has now been called off.
Friday, 10 March will now be a regular school day, with normal school operations in place.
Friday, 10 March 2023 – as at 7 March 2023
Stop work action will occur on the afternoon of Friday, 10 March 2023.
As a result, all Tasmanian Government Schools will be temporarily closed for educational instruction from 1.00pm on Friday, 10 March 2023.
This means that on Friday schools will open as normal in the morning and students can arrive at school as they usually do on this day. However, families will need to make arrangements to pick their child up at 1.00pm.
Buses will run as per their usual timetable in the morning and afternoon. If your child relies on bus transport in the afternoon you will need to make other arrangements for their travel home.
For families of students attending Support Schools, bus operators will collect students at 1pm on this day.
