Infostream Education Notices

Infostream Education Notices is an avenue for organisations to advertise educational products, services, professional learning and events to Tasmanian schools.

Submissions are published every Thursday during school terms. All new articles and events are shared by email to staff across the department, and to other non-government schools and organisations within the broader Tasmanian education sector.

Criteria

Submissions must meet one of these descriptions:

  • Curriculum-aligned material and resources for student use.
  • professional development and training events such as workshops and
    conferences.
  • scholarships.
  • activities and events of general interest to staff and/or school communities.
  • information relevant to education or departmental programs.

As well as the above, the contents must:

  • Have direct educational/agency value or will assist in student or teacher development.
  • Be non-political and not of a commercial nature.
  • Comply with departmental workplace conduct guidelines.

Articles will only be published once. Reminder articles might be considered when appropriate, but not in consecutive weeks.

Examples:

Examples of potential articles include:

  • educational resources, programs, activities, displays and performances
  • professional development sessions and programs
  • promotion of education-related events and activities for students, families and staff.

Note that school newsletters are an effective way to advertise school fairs or similar local events. Submissions of this nature will not be published in Infostream Education Notices.

Submitting articles

You can submit articles and supporting documents by using our Infostream online submission form. Supporting documents might include flyers, posters or registration forms.

Submission cut off time is midday on Wednesdays, the day before publication. We recommend that you submit your article at least three days before the deadline to allow for relevant internal approvals. Late submissions will go into the following edition.

If the program or activity you want to promote will include interaction with children and/or young people, you must ensure that all staff involved in delivery have a valid Working with Vulnerable People registration. Please note this in your article.

Any articles promoting research within Tasmanian Government School settings will need to mention all relevant ethics guidelines, protocols and frameworks.

If you are asking for personal information, you or your organisation should have a Personal Information Protection Statement. An example of this might be a registration or application form. Note that the supply of personal information to DECYP is covered by the department’s Personal Information Protection (PIP) and Your Right to Information Policy.
