Hellyer College is a government senior secondary school. It is in Burnie in North West Tasmania. Established in 1976, the college caters for approximately 650 students in Year 11 and 12. Hellyer College is on the same campus as TasTAFE (Burnie Campus). It is 1km from the Cradle Coast campus of The University of Tasmania.
Hellyer's main feeding schools are: Burnie High, Parklands High, Wynyard High, Penguin High, and Yolla District School. Students from Smithton, Queenstown, Rosebery and King Island also attend Hellyer College. They can stay at the accommodation provided onsite by the college.
NOTE: Hellyer College offers specialisations for Design and Production 2 in metals, wood and textiles. Visual Art 2 is offered as a general and photography focused course. Hellyer has its own Makerspace for creative students. Contact Hellyer College for more information.
