Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) providers that have at least 85% of educators complete the Qualiteach Birth to Five Literacy Training Modules are acknowledged as Lifting Literacy Champions below.
ECEC providers that have at least 85% of educators complete both the Qualiteach Birth to Five Literacy Training Modules and the AEDC Professional Learning Modules are acknowledged as Super Lifting Literacy Champions below.

Lifting Literacy Champions

Lifting Literacy Champions receive:
- digital badge for display on websites and email
- certificate for printing, and

Self-nominate before August 2026 to receive the recognition bundle, email read.tasmania@decyp.tas.gov.au once 85% of educators have completed the Qualiteach Birth to Five Literacy Training Modules.
Super Lifting Literacy Champions

Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) providers who have 85% or more educators complete the Qualiteach Birth to Five Literacy Training Modules and the AEDC Professional Learning Modules can be acknowledged as Super Lifting Literacy Champions.
Super Lifting Literacy Champions receive:
- digital badge for display on websites and email
- certificate for printing
- a book package with teaching strategies, and
- recognition on the Lifting Literacy Champions List.

Self-nominate before August 2026 to receive the recognition bundle, please email read.tasmania@decyp.tas.gov.au once 85% of educators have completed the Qualiteach Birth to Five Literacy Training Modules and the AEDC Professional Learning Modules.
Australian Early Development Census Professional Learning Modules
The Australian Early Development Census (AEDC) Professional Learning Modules are designed to support early years educators in using AEDC data to inform their practice and help further support the children in their care.
The six self-paced modules are accessible across all digital platforms and explore practical tools and insights for using AEDC data.
Content is aligned with the National Quality Standard and Early Years Learning Framework and includes topics, such as:
- understanding children’s development in your community
- supporting the quality of your curriculum planning and Quality Improvement Plans
- addressing the strengths and needs of children and families
- identifying staff professional development areas.
These modules have been developed in consultation with representatives from the Education and Care Unit (ECU), Working Together, DECYP Early Learning and Early Childhood Australia (ECA) Tasmania Branch.

DECYP Qualiteach Birth to Five Literacy Training Modules
The Qualiteach Birth to Five Literacy Training Modules for the Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) sector are designed to build the capability of early years staff to support evidence-based language and literacy development.
Developed by DECYP in partnership with early years educators, the training aims to establish a shared understanding of high-quality early literacy learning and provide educators with tools to foster literacy through play and evidence-informed activities.
Modules are free and online for educators to complete at their own pace. Service providers will share training access and related resources with educators and employees.
