The Tasmanian Government is establishing a new Child and Family Learning Centre (CFLC) at Scottsdale. The new Dorset CFLC will be located on the Scottsdale Primary School site and offer a variety of services to support you, all in one place. It is somewhere you and your child can make friends, and they can learn as they play. CFLCs are welcoming places where you can get advice on health and family matters, education and training. For families and young children, they offer friendly and caring environments that support you with health and wellbeing services from pregnancy to age 5.

The draft concept plans for the new Dorset CFLC have now been developed, based on community and stakeholder feedback. You can view the draft concept plans until 31 January 2026, and provide your feedback to us at getinvolved@decyp.tas.gov.au

Timeline

The project initiation and planning stage informs development of a concept master plan and will commence from early 2025.

The initial stage of community engagement provides an opportunity for parents, carers, families, service providers and the broader community to help shape the new Dorset Child and Family Learning Centre (CFLC).

A Local Enabling Group (LEG) will be established to contribute and consider ideas throughout project development. The LEG will have representation from key local leaders, service providers and community members representing a broad cross section of the Scottsdale community and surrounding regions.
