Course description
This 45-minute online session supports school leaders to strengthen data-informed decision making in relation to student attendance and engagement. Participants will explore practical approaches for visualising data, identifying patterns and trends, collaboratively analysing multiple data sources, and using insights to inform actions and review impact over time. Resources and tools to support implementation will be provided. For a deeper exploration of this topic, participants may wish to enrol in the full-day Building Data Literacy: Foundations to interpretation workshop.
Course outcomes
Participants will develop a deeper understanding of:
- exploring and visualising attendance and engagement data to identify patterns and trends
- analysing and interpreting multiple data sources to build a shared understanding of student needs
- using evidence-informed processes to identify priorities and determine actions for improvement
- monitoring and reviewing the impact of actions using data over time
- how to best use the professional learning resources with their staff
