Course description

This 45-minute online session supports school leaders to strengthen the foundations of data-informed decision making to support student engagement and attendance. Participants will explore practical approaches for developing a shared purpose for data use, building staff capability, improving data integrity and strengthening collaborative ways of working. Resources and tools to support implementation will be provided. For a deeper exploration of this topic, participants may wish to enrol in the full-day Building Data Literacy: Foundations to interpretation workshop.

Course outcomes

Participants will develop a deeper understanding of:

  • establishing a shared purpose and consistent approach to using attendance and engagement data across their school
  • selecting and organising relevant data to create a clearer picture of student attendance and engagement
  • establishing collaborative processes that support purposeful and evidence-informed data conversations
  • using professional learning resources and tools to strengthen data-informed practice within their school context
