Description
The purpose of the training is anchored in achieving DECYP outcomes by fostering a workforce where people feel safe, well, and valued, while strengthening the development of a skilled and capable workforce. It also aims to equip leaders with the mentoring skills needed to support employees effectively – ensuring the right people are supported into the right roles and building leadership capability across the organisation.
The four modules include:
– Mentor Essentials
– The Mentoring Process
– Mentoring in Action
– Sustaining Mentoring Practice
Module learning is undertaken in the MyCareer platform. The Mentor Training course is available all year, with an expectation that participants complete all four modules in one calendar year.
Outcomes
By the end of this course, participants will understand the purpose, roles, and processes of effective mentoring; apply communication and feedback strategies to support diverse mentee needs; confidently manage mentoring relationships and real-world scenarios; and sustain high-quality mentoring practice that contributes to individual growth and a strong mentoring culture across the organisation.
