Course description
This in-person session will support primary leaders with plans for implementing text-based units in 2027.
Leaders will review the structure of the DECYP Ochre units, reflect on enablers and barriers, and develop clear plans for implementation in 2027 and beyond.
As part of this professional learning, leaders will explore ways to support teachers to adjust units to suit their school context and unpack key elements of effective implementation, including the development of clear school-wide systems and structures.
Participants will leave this session with actionable next steps towards leading the implementation of text-based units within their school context.
Course outcomes
Literacy leaders will be better prepared to lead the implementation of text-based units and guide school-level preparation for these units. They will have a deeper level of understanding about the text based units, their principles and how they can be implemented.
