Course description
This practical online workshop will support schools to move from Student Wellbeing and Engagement Survey (SWES) data to action.
Participants will explore key statewide findings and trends from the 2026 SWES, hear practical examples from schools and students using SWES data to inform change, and have dedicated time to unpack and reflect on their own school’s results.
Time will be built into the workshop for leadership teams to work directly with their end of year review and School Improvement Plan, using SWES findings to reflect on progress and consider strategies and actions for 2027.
The session will include practical activities, opportunities to learn from other schools, and evidence-informed approaches to strengthening student wellbeing, engagement and learning.
Participants are encouraged to attend with their 2026 SWES results, review and planning templates to make the most of the practical activities.
Course outcomes
By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
- Understand key findings and statewide trends from the 2026 SWES.
- Interpret their school’s SWES results and identify strengths and areas for improvement.
- Learn from practical examples of schools and students using SWES data to drive action.
- Identify evidence-informed strategies to strengthen student wellbeing, engagement and learning.
- Apply SWES findings directly to end of year review and 2027 School Improvement Planning, including consideration of targets, strategies and actions.
- Identify practical next steps for turning student voice and data into meaningful action.
